A little about me. When I was a little girl the only thing I wanted to do was become a teacher. When I became a teacher, I knew it was exactly what I was meant to do. I absolutely adored my job. When my daughter was born I picked up a camera and discovered my other greatest passion, and that is photography. Now I'm able to serve, educate, and mentor other photographers on their own journey.
I own a thriving in-demand family, maternity, newborn, portrait and commercial photography business in Atlanta, GA. I am a Tamron Ambassador, the founder of The Roadtrippers Retreat, an educational experience for female photographers, the author of the best selling instructional resource Bringing Home the Story of the Beach. I started my professional photography career in 2010 growing the Marcie Reif Photography brand into the commercial and portrait photography experience it is today. I speak several times a year at conferences around the country, representing major brands and leading other photographers by giving them the confidence and tools to create strong portraits of family and children, as well as motivational strategies on building their photography community.

I have no words to describe the last few days I spent in Florida with an amazing group of ladies. I traveled for almost 24 hours yesterday so had plenty of time to think of what I was going to say, but still, at am a loss for words. The Roadtrippers Retreat hosted by Marcie Reif was truly incredible. I did not expect, but I experienced the unexpected. An amazing community of talented photographers brought together in Florida just to talk about photography, business, and just life.

Last year's retreat in Bear Lake was so awesome, I didn't know if it could be topped...but I may have loved this year even more!! the chefs were AMAZING, the session locations were unreal, and the house we stayed at all together was incredible. I loved getting to know all of the attendees and being able to learn from Marcie! My cup is full! Such an incredible experience and I'm already looking forward to the next one!!

Where to even begin. I have reflected numerous times on this trip. I signed up still shooting in auto. You were kind enough to have a zoom meeting with me and it motivated me to learn manual. I came in as a person who shot primarily landscape. I was a little nervous to go and finding out everyone had their own businesses was a little intimidating at first but everyone was so nice and I was there to learn so it was fine. Kim and Shalonda were also incredible additions! I appreciated their insight and mentorship immensely. There is just something you get from in person learning versus learning online. I’ve reached out to a few in the group afterwards and have done a few family photos since. Nothing huge but it has pushed me to a different level.

The Details
October 21-24, 2024 | Torrey, UTAH
capitol reef national park
The Roadtrippers retreat will take place in Torrey, Utah from October 21st -24th.
We will be right next to Capitol Reef National Park, and this is where we will do most of our shooting.
The retreat will start at 5pm on Monday October 21st and end at 10am on Thursday October 24th.
Each speaker that does a shootout with you will edit their images with you afterwards.
Edit with the Pros
You will experience at least 3 hands-on shooting experiences with the speakers and some will include models.
Shoot Outs
The speakers will present breakout sessions on specific topics. These will be presentation style classes.
Breakout Sessions

As a group we will work on editing some of our images together. This will be a time to get one on one help with the speakers.
Group Editing
As a group we will review anonymous images together. We will highlight the strengths and weaknesses we see.
